Election of Vice President

The Vice President of the Scottish Rugby Union is elected at the AGM.  The Vice President will serve in this capacity for 2016/17 and 2017/18, before being confirmed in office at the 2018 AGM to serve as President for the following two season.

The period for nominations for Vice President closed on 31 May 2016. Nominations were recieved in respect of:

Vacancies on the Scottish Rugby Council

Each year a number of vacancies arise on the Scottish Rugby Council. This year these are as follows:

Glasgow North Regional League Representative

A vacancy arises for the position of the Glasgow North Regional League Representative on Council. The clubs eligible to take part in the election are those Glasgow North Area clubs (outwith the Premiership / National Leagues) which have played at least five XV-a-side games this season. The following information was circulated to the eligible clubs:

The period for nominations closed on 30 April 2016, with two candidates coming forward:

Letter of 4 May 2016 on the Glasgow North Election Process

As a result of the ballot William Gardner (Lanark RFC) was elected to serve on Council with effect from the 2016 SRU Annual General Meeting.

Scottish Rugby Referees Association Representative

The current SRRA Representative retires from Council at the 2016 SRU AGM. The SRRA is conducting an election (in accordance with the Election Rules) in order to elect a new representative to the Scottish Rugby Council.

Scottish Exile Club Representative

Nominations were sought in respect of the position of the Scottish Exile Club Representative on Council. To be eligible to stand for election candidates must have been nominated by a member club whose home ground is situated outside Scotland not otherwise currently represented on Council (there are four such clubs: London Scottish FC, Hong Kong Scottish RFC, Toronto Scottish RFC and Crags Crusaders RFC).
