McLaren Rugby Football Club is looking to recruit a new Head Coach for its Senior XV.

About the club

McLaren RFC was formed in 1990 and is now well established in the West Regional Leagues.

The Senior XV won consecutive titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12 up to West 2. The club has an enthusiastic and hard working committee and a large playing pool. This is coupled with a successful mini section and strong links with the successful McLaren High School teams. The Cslub holds Charter Club status with ClubSport Stirling.

Recent developments have seen the Club secure planning permission for a new pitch and floodlit training area in Callander, and support the development of a 3G surface at McLaren Leisure Centre, which the Club intend to access when required for training. The Club have also formed an Under 14 team and achieved Charitable Status, as well as investing in a Modern Apprentice with the SRU and Active Stirling in each of the past 4 seasons.

Future developments include achieving Positive Coaching Scotland accreditation, the completion of the pitch project, refurbishment of a changing pavillion, a strength and conditioning facility in conjunction with McLaren Leisure Centre, an under-16 team and the rebirth of our second team.

The club will support coach development fully, and have a Coach Co-ordinator.

This position will require a time commitment involving evenings and weekends.  We currently train 2 nights a week, Monday and Wednesday 7.00-8.30pm, although these could be altered to suit coach requirements.

The position is voluntary with reasonable expenses reimbursed. The successful candidate will also be supported in the role by a dedicated team of helpers, including a Team Manager and match day physio.
