Elite Performance Programme

The Elite Performance Programe exists to provide the best environment for young Scottish players to develop their skills, disciplines, knowledge and attitude to achieve their full rugby playing potential. It helps them to fulfill their aspirations to become professional rugby players.

Elite Development players continue to play at their home clubs, when appropriate, but train as professional athletes with Scotland 7s, Edinburgh Rugby or Glasgow Warriors.

They are under the supervision of elite Development staff or with Scotland 7s under the supervision of Scotland 7s coaches. Players sign either full-time or part-time remunerated contracts with Scottish Rugby.
