Performance pathway

Developing talented players

The National Player Pathway programme identifies our most talented young players, develops their skills and helps them to prepare for Scottish Rugby’s National Academy, or a contract with Scottish Rugby.

The programme ensures that players take part in the correct rugby programmes from under-14 level onwards.

It also identifies and develops talented exiled Scotland-eligible players in England.

Developing coaches and managers

The Pathway programme also identifies volunteer coaches and managers in the National Player Pathway and community game, and works with them in clubs and schools to ensure that players receive the correct support.
