Player Development Programme

This initiative is part of Scottish Rugby’s Pathway Programme.

Information for volunteers

We need volunteers to support the Exiles Player Development Programme in a number of different roles (see below). So if you're keen to keep Scottish Rugby strong and to help young players to fulfill their rugby potential why not get involved!

Volunteers needed

Pathway team managers

A team manager works closely with the peformance development manager and the player development coordinator to support the organizational running of an age group team.


  •  an interest in rugby! 
  •  be available for the all training sessions and games. 
  •  Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

Pathway coaches

A coach would work with a team of people, including a team manager and other coaches, to deliver an appropriate training and development programme for a squad of players.


  • be available for all training sessions and games
  • a minimum of UKCC SRU / RFU Level Two coaching certificate or an equivalent qualification awarded prior to the UKCC initiative. 
  • an interest in rugby and willingness attend further professional development sessions. 
  • CRB check.
