Following Scotland’s 42-17 victory over Japan in the opening viagogo Autumn Test, the boys in blue joined fans in helping to smash the record for the largest ever squad picture.
After opening the series in style, the team joined thousands of fans to take part in the picture which marked Scotland’s new partnership with kit suppliers, Macron.
Scottish Rugby has since uploaded the photo on to the social media site Facebook so fans can tag themselves in the photo and mark their moment in history.
Scotland hooker, Ross Ford, said:
“There's 23 players on the pitch on match day but the squad is far more than that. Each and every fan who's cheering us on is part of our team so it's great to have a team photo with thousands of fans involved”.
Duncan Weir – who scored his debut try for Scotland only ten minutes before the picture was taken - said: “I’m looking forward to seeing largest team photo. It’s a great initiative to celebrate the launch of the new Scotland kit and a great experience for all the players and fans involved.”
Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello, said: “We know Scottish rugby fans feel part of their national team, and to be able to wear the blue jersey and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their heroes to make Scottish Rugby history is a memorable moment for all involved.”
