Dougie Fife draws the first round of the 2014/15 BT Cup

Scotland and Edinburgh Rugby winger, Dougie Fife, made the draw at BT Murrayfield Stadium where the BT Cup final will return in 2015.

Teams from BT National League 1, 2 and 3 will compete in round one of the knockout competition, which will be played on Saturday 30 August.  BT Premiership teams will enter the fold further down-the-line.

Perhaps the closest geographical encounter is between Stewart’s Melville FP and RHC Cougars, with Howe of Fife v Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy v Dundee HSFP and Irvine v Marr following closely behind.

2014 RBS Shield Champions, Preston Lodge will welcome Ardrossan Academicals to Pennypit for their first tie.

Scottish Rugby’s head of clubs and schools, Nick Rennie, said: “Some exciting local derbies are the highlights of the first round of the 2014/15 BT Cup.
