Scottish Rugby today welcomed another new partner: A G Barr, the renowned and iconic Scottish soft drinks manufacturer was named as our Official Soft Drink Partner.
The deal will see the Scotland national team, Scotland 7s team and the country’s two professional clubs, Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby supported for the next two seasons by A.G. Barr’s range of brands, including IRN-BRU, Scotland’s favourite soft drink, Strathmore spring water and Barr Cola.
The players will be hydrated by Strathmore water and rugby fans will also be able to enjoy the full range of A.G. Barr brands at all matches at BT Murrayfield and Scotstoun Stadium.
Furthermore, A.G. Barr also becomes the Official Soft Drink Partner of the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s.
The deal was launched at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow today with Sean Maitland (Scotland), James Eddie (Scotland 7s), Rob Harley (Glasgow Warriors) and Fraser McKenzie (Edinburgh Rugby) on hand to show their support.

The agreement means that A.G. Barr’s long-standing association with supporting Scottish sport will continue, having been a supporter of Scottish football for the last seven years through IRN-BRU, and more recently, a sponsor of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Team Scotland.
A.G. Barr’s sports sponsorship history dates back to the early 1900s when IRN-BRU was associated with sporting heroes of the day Donald Dinnie, all round Champion Athlete of the World, and Alex Munro, Champion Caber Tosser of the World and Champion Wrestler.
In more recent times, IRN-BRU has partnered with both football as Title Sponsor of the SFL between 2007 and 2013 and is currently Official Soft Drink of the SPFL. The brand has also been Official Soft Drink of the Rugby Football League in England between 2009 and 2014. Strathmore continues to support the Glasgow and Edinburgh Road Race programmes and Rubicon has previously been involved in Twenty20 cricket sponsorship.
