Richard Taylor

Richard Winston Taylor progressed through Borders under-16, under-17 and under-18, and Edinburgh at under-17 and under-18 levels. The former Earlston HS pupil, now at Loretto, joined the Scotland under-18 training squad in 2011 and was a member of the development squad that went to training camp in Spain in 2012. With his Earlston HS team, he lifted the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Bowl in 2011 and the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Plate in 2012.

He made his under-18 international debut, leading the team, against England in March 2012 and continued to captain the side in the victories over Ireland at Hamilton and Wales in the FIRA opener in Grenoble, followed by the matches against England and Ireland. He made his debut at under-20 level in the defeat away to Italy in February 2014.

Outwith rugby, Richard has represented Scotland at under-15 level in cricket, playing against English Counties and in Europe.
