Benjamin John Vellacott has played for Scotland at under-17 and under-18 levels - giving a man-of-the-match performance against England at the former age grade.
He made his Scotland under-20 debut off the bench against Ireland in January 2014 and scored his side's only try, in the final minutes.
Following his contribution to Scotland under-20s successful Six Nations in 2015, he was selected for his second World Rugby Under-20 Championship campaign.
Vellacott was one of the stand-out performers of the tournament, starting at scrum-half in four of Scotland under-20's five games. He was selected as World Rugby's Dream Team scrum-half following his contribution to his side's first ever defeat of their Argentine counterparts.
A former pupil of Ivybridge College, he also represented Devon at under-15 and under-18 levels and was a member of both Exeter Chiefs and Worcester Warriors academies.
Currently studying Sports Coaching at Hartpury College, whom he turns out for in addition to Gloucester, he was a National Schools under-13 Athletics champion at 100m.
Ben's mum hails from Peterhead and his dad played rugby for the Navy.
