Gavin Parker

Gavin Ian Parker started his rugby in the Biggar RFC minis and is a former pupil of George Heriot's School and Merchiston Castle School. He was a member of the Merchiston team that got to the final of the under-18 Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup final in November 2012 - kicking four penalties - but narrowly lost in the end to George Watson's College.

He made his international debut for Scotland under-18 against England in Darlington in March 2013, kicking the opening points for Scotland with a penalty in the first half. He was included in the IRB JWC squad for New Zealand in May 2014 and played in both non cap warm-up matches against Ireland and Wales.

Gavin also competed at the finals of the Scottish Schools Athletics relay championships in 2012 for the school, reaching second place and also that year was Merchiston School Athletics Champion. He is currently studying Economics and Finance at Exeter University and plays for their Freshers 1st XV - as well as winning their league the team also won the national BUCS trophy in March. Gavin is now aligned and training with Exeter Chiefs and when back in Scotland, plays for Biggar RFC.

Becca Parker, who currently plays second row for Scotland Women, is Gavin's second cousin - her dad Hugh represented Scotland B.
