Nicola Halfpenny

Nicola Halfpenny, who has played for Scotland at under-16 level, was Melrose player of the season in 2007/8 as well as playing in the club’s squad in the Bowl Final at Murrayfield the same season, and she has played for the club in winning the Melrose sevens.

She made her Scotland debut against Ireland in the final game of the 2010 Six Nations, took part in the Rugby World Cup and featured again in the January 2011 friendly against Spain in Madrid. The Hawick High School former pupil, who is currently studying at Borders College, has also had honours in football, winning the footballer of the year award in 2005 and the young coach of the year prize in 2008.
