Jade Konkel

Jade Elizabeth Konkel first took up rugby at primary school before moving on to the under-18s. She trialled for Scottish Rugby's senior regional development squad but was immediately selected into Scotland Women's under-20 squad in 2011/12 where she turned out for the fixture against Hartpury College.

She made her Scotland debut off the bench against England in the Women's 6 Nations against England in February 2013 at Esher.

Born in Inverness and a former pupil of Fortrose Academy, on the Black Isle, she is currently at Glasgow Caledonian University studying social work.

Her whole family comes from a rugby background - Jade previously played with Inverness Craig Dunain rugby club, as did her mum, dad, younger and older brothers.

Jade has also played basketball for Highland, represented Scotland in athletics for the army cadets (winning two gold medals in 2008/09) and in 2008 gained her black belt in the martial art Goshin-Ryu Kempo.
