Leanne Neary

Leanne's interest in rugby was sparked by an advert in her local paper inviting prospective players to trial for a nearby club. She took up the sport and then, aged 16, progressed to their intermediate team.

She moved to Scotland five years ago and worked her way through the Scotland under-20 then A squads prior to selection for the Scotland Women squad in December 2012. She made her senor debut off the bench in February 2013 against England at Esher in the Women's 6 Nations opener.

Her dad is a former rugby player and Leanne used to play football, having trialled for Liverpool and Blackburn when she was 12.

Based in Biggar, she's currently employed in the retail industry.
