Alex Dunbar

Alex Dunbar scored a tremendous second-half brace of tries as Scotland posted their first win in the 2014 RBS 6 Nations Championship by 21-20 against Italy in Rome.

Alex is a gifted, hard-running centre who produced a string of powerful displays in the second half of the 2011/12 season, for his club Glasgow Warriors, to cement his reputation as one of the most talented young midfielders in the land.

He had represented Glasgow at every age level from under-14 to under-18 before initially signing for the city's professional team in 2010 and quickly settling into the Scotstoun set-up. He won his first cap for the senior Scotland team in their opening match of the quadrangular tournament in South Africa in 2013, against Samoa and followed up the next week with his first try against South Africa in Nelspruit.

Alex was the Annan RFC's under-18 player of the year in both 2005/06 and 2006/07.

The Lockerbie Academy former pupil graduated in 2008 with an HNC from the Scottish Agricultural College at Auchincruive in Ayrshire.

. He has played for Scotland at under-20 and 7s level and made his Scotland A debut against England Saxons at Newcastle in February 2013.
