One of the most consistent and highly rated locks in the English Premiership, Timothy James Montagu Swinson joined Glasgow Warriors from Newcastle Falcons where he was named Player of the Season in 2011.His first Murrayfield start for Scotland saw Swinson produce a storming man of the match performance in the 42-17 win against Japan. He is a product of Oundle School and also played club rugby at Sydney Univeristy during his gap year.
The 26-year-old has played close to 100 Premiership games in the boiler house and qualifies for Scotland courtesy of a maternal grandmother from Glasgow. He was first called in the Scotland squad for their summer tour to South Africa in 2013 and was named most improved player on the tour by the Scotland management who were pleased with the bristling aggression he brought to his international matches against both South Africa and Italy.
In season 2012/13 Swinson added try-scoring to his usual mix of bite and aggression in the pack for his club, scoring a double against the Dragons in the record breaking win at Rodney Parade and following that up with a third in two games against Ulster.
