Bank of Scotland Corporate has confirmed that it will not be seeking to renew its current sponsorship of the Autumn Tests, following the end of this year’s series.Bank of Scotland Corporate has made a significant contribution to Scottish Rugby over an exciting five year period for the sport. Lloyds Banking Group has a long history of supporting Scottish rugby, including the Lloyds TSB’s former sponsorship of the Six Nations (from 1997 to 2002) and the Thistle Rugby Trust (Lloyds TSB Scotland was a founder member of this charity).Donald Kerr, Head of Commercial Business in Scotland at Bank of Scotland Corporate, said: “We are very proud to have sponsored the Autumn Tests for the past five years, however we feel that the time is now right for a new partner to come on board and work with Scottish Rugby. We are parting on good terms with a very orderly process. We will work with Scottish Rugby to help them find a suitable new sponsor.” Gordon McKie, Scottish Rugby’s Chief Executive, said: “We are grateful to Bank of Scotland Corporate for their support of Scottish Rugby since becoming Autumn Test sponsor in 2005. Whilst we are disappointed to lose this relationship and support for the game, we respect the bank’s decision. Our focus will be to secure a new sponsor for the Autumn Tests in 2010 and beyond.”
