The flagship competition for girls’ rugby in Scotland, the Brewin Dolphin Girls’ Cup, will return to BT Murrayfield this season, with the competition’s top-tier finals being played on the international pitch.The competition will adopt a different structure this season, with teams taking part in respective north and south warm-up tournaments, before progressing to a qualifying competition (Sunday 16 November), prior to the semi-final stages.Sheila Begbie, Scottish Rugby’s head of women’s and girls’ rugby, said: “We’re really excited about the concept of the new tournament structure for this season, with the regional pools providing a chance for teams to get some quality game time under their belt before the competition really gets going. “By focussing on the grassroots of the girls’ game, we know that rugby will continue to grow, resulting in improvements in standards at all levels of the game.”We want to bring more girls into the game and to provide a conveyer belt of talent through our systems. The Brewin Dolphin Girls’ Cup provides an excellent platform for doing exactly that.”Good luck to all the teams in the competition.
