There is several all Premiership ties, with Melrose making their way to Meggetland where they will face Boroughmuir.

Second in the league, Melrose, know it’s going to be a tough encounter in the capital, “Cup games are always exciting affairs and this game is sure to be no different.” Melrose Head Coach, Robert Chrystie said ahead of the fixture.

“Boroughmuir have assembled an extremely exciting group of players and their attacking threat is clear. There has been a real excitement this week at training, however we understand the level of performance that is required”, he added.

His opposite number, Pete Black, is also looking forward seeing his charges show their potential, saying “The players are looking forward to the challenge, both sides play open rugby, so we can look forward to a fast-flowing game, hopefully the weather doesn’t have too much influence on the game.”

Glasgow Hawks return to Bridgehaugh, who will be looking to avenge their agonising defeat at the hands of Stirling in their last league encounter where victory was snatched away, courtesy of Stirling’s last-gasp try.

That result is still very much in the mind of Hawks Head Coach, Fin Gillies, “We were bitterly disappointed with the result last time that we played away at Stirling and we know that things will not be any easier this time around.”

An all Borders tie will kick off at 12.15pm on Saturday with Hawick hosting Gala. The visitors, who will be looking to claim a Premiership scalp, currently sit seventh in Tennent’s League 1 with their opponents in ninth position in the Premiership.

A familiar face around Mansfield Park, Hawick Head Coach Garry Douglas commented, “Local derby so anything goes. It’s my old stomping ground so will be a lot of pride at stake. Gala have had a mixed season, so we will need to ensure we are on our ‘A’ game to get a result. I am looking for a much-improved performance from last week as frankly we didn’t turn up.”

Edinburgh Academicals will be hoping for an extended Cup run after a difficult start to the season, as they face Heriot’s.

Accies Head Coach, John Wright said, “Although it is not winning us games yet, it is creating opportunities for our young players to develop and showcase their attacking skill set against some unforgiving defences. We hope to see more of the same on Saturday against Heriot’s at Goldenacre, in what I believe will be less of a one-sided affair than before.”

Jed-Forrest will entertain Selkirk in the only all Division 1 clash of the round, with Marr facing a stiff challenge against Watsonians at Myreside. The final tie of the weekend will see GHA travel to the in-form Currie Chieftains.

Ayr will be observers this weekend after Dundee HSFP were forced to concede due to insufficient players.
