Dalziel makes five personnel changes for Italian Test

Head Coach John Dalziel has made five personnel changes to his starting Scotland under-20 side to face their Italian counterparts in the final group stage match of the World Rugby Under-20 Championship, tomorrow at the Manchester City Academy Stadium (kick-off 3.15pm) – live on Sky Sports. In the pack, Zander Fagerson and Murray McCallum are brought into the front-row, while Matt Smith is re-introduced to the back-row. Adam Hastings returns to stand-off and will be joined by centre Matt McPhillips, who is set to make his first start for Scotland under-20 after debuting in the game against England. Dalziel said: “There is no denying that this is a huge game for us, with a lot resting on the result. “After the disappointment of the loss to England, we’ve refocused quickly and trained well in preparation for tomorrow’s game against what will be a physical Italian side, who possess a strong set-piece.”We’ve got a lot of experience in our side for this game, and we’re hoping that this will come to the fore and revitalise the team as we chase an all-important victory, which would see us record two pool stage wins for the first time ever in this competition.”As well as the switches in personnel, Dalziel has also made four positional changes to his starting XV to face Italy, who his side defeated 24-14 in the recent Six Nations.Blair Kinghorn reverts back to his familiar position of full-back, while Ben Robbins moves to the left wing and Robbie Nairn retains his spot on the right flank. With McPhillips’ inclusion, Tom Galbraith moves out one spot from inside to outside centre, while Hastings partners Hugh Fraser at half-back.In the back-row, Jamie Ritchie switches from openside to blindside flank, with Smith wearing the number seven jersey and Ally Miller retaining his spot in the back-row at number eight.Captain Scott Cummings and Callum Hunter-Hill remain as the second-row pairing. McCallum and Fagerson pack down alongside hooker Jake Kerr, who makes his third start of the tournament.Scotland under-20 team to play Italy under-20 in the World Rugby Under-20 Championship?Manchester City Academy Stadium, ManchesterWednesday 15 June 2016Live on Sky Sports 415.
