Edinburgh Rugby’s Game On team win sevens derby at BT Murrayfield
Edinburgh Rugby beat Glasgow Warriors in a seven-a-side match at BT Murrayfield this evening.The home side won 29-7 with their star-man, Morro Bajo, scoring a hat-trick on the wing.The match acted as a curtain raiser to the annual Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup finals that are played at the national stadium.The two sides were made up of players from the professional sides’ Wooden Spoon Game On initiative, which works with 19-24 years-olds who currently aren’t in education or employment.The programme uses rugby as a tool to develop participants and help them find education and employment.Scottish Rugby’s Equality and Outreach Manager, Pete Young, said: “It was great to see these players out on the international pitch at BT Murrayfield.They were in front of a massive crowd and had a great chance to show-off their skills.”For Edinburgh the remaining scorers were Cammy Menzies with a brace and Jamie Davies who fulfilled the kicking duties.Glasgow’s try-scorer was Darryl Elvin.
