December 4 & 5 | Tennent’s Leagues Preview
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming up on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December.
This week in the women’s Tennent’s Premiership, the scheduled fixtures between Watsonians and Stirling County, Heriot’s Blues and Cartha Queen’s Park, plus Corstorphone Cougars and Hillhead Jordanhill have been resolved as a 0-0 draw to allow the players to take part in friendly fixtures at Bridgehaugh to celebrate the life of Scotland international and Stirling County player, Siobhan Cattigan, who sadly passed away.
A statement from Stirling County read: “We will recognise the tragic events of the last week and honour Shibby by taking to the pitch and playing as she did – with passion, commitment and with smiles on our faces.”
Clubs playing across the men’s and women’s Tennent’s league competitions this weekend have been invited to honour Siobhan’s life with a minute’s applause prior to kick-off.
In the women’s Tennent’s National League Division 1, In the women’s Tennent’s National League Division 1, Howe of Fife take on Stewartry knowing a bonus point win could put them ahead of their visitors on points difference.
West of Scotland will be looking to keep a title challenge alive with a win over Broughton, who themselves will be chasing a second win of the season.
And unbeaten Garioch host Ayr, who are also looking for a second win of the season.
This week, all three fixtures are on Sunday at 2pm.

It’s time for round 13 of the men’s Tennent’s Premiership.
Musselburgh have a chance to lift the Bill McLaren Shield for the first time when they travel to Edinburgh Accies.
Selkirk could jump up to sixth a win over Hawick, who themselves could climb to second with a victory.
Jed-Forest could climb up as many as three places with a win when they travel to play Glasgow Hawks.
League leaders Currie Chieftains will be looking to build on their incredible start, having lost just one game, when they travel to GHA.
And Aberdeen Grammar will be looking to build on a first win of the season last week when they host second placed Marr.
This week, Aberdeen v Marr is on Saturday at 1.45pm, and Selkirk v Hawick is at 3pm. The remaining fixtures are all at 2pm.
Turning to the men’s Tennent’s National League Division 1, Gala host Ayr will both sides able to finish the weekend in second with a victory.
Watsonian’s will be looking to build on getting their first win of the season last weekend when they host Dundee.
Melrose could climb to the top of the table with a win when they host Boroughmuir.
But for that to happen, they would need leaders Heriot’s Blues to lose, who are travelling to Cartha Queens Park.
A win for Highland at home to Kelso could take them from seventh to second, showing just how tight the league is.
And Biggar will also be hoping to keep up with the pack at the top when they host Stirling Wolves.
This week, Cartha v Heriot’s and Biggar v Stirling are on Saturday at 2pm. The remaining fixtures are all at 3pm.
