Fan guide to Rome
Scotland travel to Rome this Saturday for round three of the Guinness Six Nations, where they'll face Italy at the Stadio Olimpico. We’ve pulled together key information for travelling fans supporting Scotland on the road.
When it is being played?
Saturday 22 February (3.15pm local time, 2.15pm GMT) – available to watch live on ITV and DMAX in Italy.
The Stadium
Address: Stadio Olimpico; Via Foro Italico, 00194 Roma
The stadium hosted the 1960 Olympic Games, football’s 1990 World Cup Final and is part of the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament. It has a capacity of over 72,000.
Our History
There have been 30 matches between the teams with Scotland winning 22 and Italy eight.
The sides first met in 1996 when Scotland won 29-22 in Edinburgh, overcoming a half-time deficit thanks, in part, to a double from winger Kenny Logan.
Of the 12 fixtures held in Italy, the teams have six wins apiece, with Scotland prevailing 29-27 two years ago, thanks to a nerveless late penalty from scrum-half Greig Laidlaw.
With time running out when @Scotlandteam last visited Rome…a late @StuartWHOGG_ try and an even later Greig Laidlaw penalty was enough to see them home.
