Preview: Scotland v Fiji
Scotland are back in Autumn Nations Series action against Fiji tomorrow at BT Murrayfield (kick off 1pm) - live on Prime Video.
What they said
Head Coach Gregor Townsend said: “We put in a good performance against Australia and we know we had chances to win.
“While we’re disappointed with that, we’ve got a full squad this week, we’ve had good competition, and it’s an opportunity for these players to lay down a marker as we go into New Zealand and Argentina later on in the month.”
- Scotland have won five of their last six Test matches against Fiji (L1), including their most recent (54-17 in November 2018); Scotland have won all four of their previous home fixtures against Fiji, with those victories coming by an average margin of 21 points.
- Scotland’s Stuart Hogg was the only player to register 600+ running metres in this year’s Guinness Six Nations (656); Hogg (15) along with team mates Darcy Graham (19) and Ali Price (16), were three of just four players to beat 15+ defenders in the Championship this year.
- Fiji beat 73 defenders during this year’s Pacific Nations Cup, 22 more than the next best team (Tonga, 51), while they also carried for more metres than any other nation during the competition (1886m).
