Tom Smith & John Dalziel: Guinness Six Nations Preview

This week our hosts catch up with former Scotland and British & Irish Lions prop Tom Smith and Scotland forwards coach John Dalziel ahead of the Guinness Six Nations campaign kicking off next weekend.

Tom Smith, who has been fighting colorectal cancer for 14 months gives us an update on his health and how he has become an ambassador for 40tude, a UK bowel cancer charity.

As well as talking about his international rugby career and his quick journey from a Scotland cap to the 1997 British & Irish Lions tour, he looks ahead next month’s Guinness Six Nations and gives us his thoughts on the current Scotland squad.

John Dalziel joins us from inside the Scotland camp to talk us through the squad selected for the upcoming Guinness Six Nations, his coaching journey to the national team and how things are settling down and progressing in the first few days of camp.

In Scotland, bowel screening is offered to men and women aged 50 to 74 to help find bowel/colon cancer early when it can often be cured. According to NHS Scotland, you are 14 times more likely to survive bowel cancer if it’s found early. For more information on the charity for which Tom is now an ambassador or to make a donation, please log on to www.40tude.org.uk.
