Greenwood Elected To Scottish Rugby Council
Jim Greenwood (Berwick) has been elected to the Scottish Rugby Council as one of the two representatives of clubs in the Scottish Hydro Electric National Leagues, joining Archie Ferguson (Dalziel).Greenwood, who was secretary of Berwick for 30 years and served two stints as president of his club, is the first Berwick representative to be elected to the Scottish Rugby Council, or, its previous equivalent body, the SRU General Committee. A hooker in his playing days – representing Berwick in their first match when they were reformed in 1968 – and a chartered accountant by profession, Greenwood won a tightly contested election ahead of Ken Richardson (Linlithgow), Mike Monro (Aberdeenshire) and Donald Naysmith (Livingston).He takes up his post as a member of the Scottish Rugby Council at Scottish Rugby’s annual meeting on Saturday 27 June.
