Haddington and Dundee HSFP among BT awards
Haddington have been voted BT Club of the Month for January for the 2015/16 season. The club, whose 1st XV play in the BT National League Division 3, have been recognised for maintaining high performance standards and for the development of all areas of their club following a refurbishment in 2014.The 1st XV are currently fourth in their league following a run of strong performances and remained unbeaten throughout January along with their 2nd XV respectively. The club have been clocking up the miles recently, having chartered a plane for a league game against Orkney in February, embracing the distance of more than 300 miles. Haddington President, Clifford Livingstone, said: “The award means a lot to all involved at Haddington, who have been working hard to get the club going in the right direction. Our 1st XV have done well so far this season and our mini and youth section is also in good hands, with a very good standard of coaching encouraging our mini membership to grow.” Indeed, the club’s youth section is going from strength to strength with an U16 tour scheduled in April before the club host a visiting team. The mini section is now engaging with the Active Schools programme, which is expected to be up and running come next season.A recent move to a local 3G facility for training has provided the club with options and numbers remain high with 30 players at each session. In winning the award, Haddington will receive a prize of the value of£1000, through a 12-month BT Sport subscription and£200 cash. They will also win a table for 10 at the Scottish Rugby Club Awards Dinner, and will be subsidised£500 for travel expenses to this event. Haddington will also be in the shortlist for the BT Club of the Year award, to be announced at the dinner.
