Jackson (Glasgow Warriors and Cartha Queens Park) replaces Max Evans (Glasgow Warriors) who has not recovered sufficiently from a hamstring tweak suffered during last weekends Emirates Airline London Sevens at Twickenham. Scotland 7s head coach Stephen Gemmell said: “We gave Max as much recovery time as possible but unfortunately, his injury hasn’t healed quickly enough. “Max has been very mature about the situation and admitted that it wouldn’t be fair on himself nor his team-mates if he wasn’t in top form for such an important tournament. He continued: “Ruaridh is a talented player and is up-to-speed with all the calls we have. He was with us in Dubai and George earlier in the series, so all the boys know what he can bring to this strong squad.” Jackson added: “I’m really chuffed to have been called up to the squad for such an important tournament. “I know Max really well from sevens and Glasgow training and I’m gutted for him. However, this tournament has been the focus for this squad for some time and I can’t wait to be involved.” Scotland 7s squad for the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s at Murrayfield (2 and 3 June): Mike Adamson (Glasgow Warriors and Glasgow Hawks), Ben Addison (Glasgow Warriors and Stirling County), Ben Cairns (Edinburgh Rugby and Currie), Simon Cross (Edinburgh Rugby), Scott Forrest (Border Reivers and Hawick) CAPTAIN, Calum Forrester (Glasgow Warriors and GHA), Roddy Grant (Border Reivers and Gala), Colin Gregor (Glasgow Warriors), Ruaridh Jackson (Glasgow Warriors and Cartha Queens Park), Mark Robertson (Border Reivers and Melrose), Colin Shaw (Glasgow Warriors), Colin White (Glasgow Warriors and Ayr) The draw for the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s (2 and 3 June): Pool A – Fiji, Australia, Kenya, Portugal Pool B – Samoa, France, Wales, Italy Pool C – South Africa, Scotland, Canada, Russia Pool D – New Zealand, England, Argentina, Georgia Scotland 7s’ fixtures on day one (Saturday 2 June) of the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s: 11:46am, Scotland 7s v Russia 7s 2:52pm, Scotland 7s v Canada 7s 5:58pm, South Africa 7s v Scotland 7s Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s ticket prices and packages: – One day adult ticket -£10, free concession ticket with all pre-booked adult tickets – Two day adult ticket -£15, free concession ticket with all pre-booked adult tickets – Buy on the day adult ticket -£10 and concessions£5 – 7 Pack (Family) – 1 day£30.
