Tennent’s Premiership and National Leagues

Maintaining their winning streak, Glasgow Hawks overcame Musselburgh 43-19 in the Men’s Tennent’s Premiership league and remain 1 point behind Marr in the overall league standings.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Edinburgh Accies claimed five league points and took possession of the Bill McLaren Shield, beating Hawick 42-29.

In the Women’s Tennent’s Premiership, Heriot’s Blues went down 19-35 against Corstorphine Cougars. After just 3 rounds, Cougars take the lead in the table making it three from three.

A top of the table battle took place at Kellands Park between Garioch and West of Scotland on Sunday 26 September. However, Garioch were able to maintain their lead at the top winning 35-10.

Finally, in Tennent’s National 3, West of Scotland triumphed over Strathmore with 52-5 win at home.

Tennent’s East Leagues

In the Women’s Tennent’s East/Midlands league, Liberton welcomed league new-comers Dunfermline to Double Hedges. The opening half of the game saw Liberton take the lead 17-5 but Dunfermline fought their way back with three more tries to narrow the final score to 22-20, walking away with 2 bonus points. Leanne Omar of Liberton was named Player of the Match.

Tennent’s Caledonia Leagues

In Tennent’s Caledonia Division 3, Bannockburn secured a 45-29 win over Rosyth Sharks to take them to third in the table after 4 rounds.

Elsewhere in Division 3, it was a tough battle for Strathmore 2XV who were beaten by Crieff and Strathearn, 5-60.

Tennent’s West Leagues

In the Tennent’s West Division 2 league, just 7 points separated Oban Lorne and Strathaven. But it was the Strath’ guys who walked away victorious with the 10-17 win.

In an even tighter match in the West Division 2 league, Uddingston hosted Helensburgh, claiming the win with just 1 point more. Final score 25-24.
