Scottish Rugby continues to offer a Clean Sport module for clubs across Scotland.

The module is available via SCRUMS, and outlines the importance of players competing in clean sport.

It also provides clear guidance for players and those around them on the risks and potential consequences of supplementation so that coaches and parents can support players in making informed choices.

So far, close to 500 people have completed the Clean Sport module.

At training today, Scotland’s Rugby World Cup 2023 squad wore “Keep Rugby Clean” t-shirts ahead of this weekend’s World Rugby Clean Sport Weekend.

Keep Rugby Clean is World Rugby’s anti-doping education and awareness programme. It aims to deter and prevent doping by educating participants on their responsibilities, raising awareness of doping risks, and fostering an ethical clean-sport ethos.

Scottish Rugby’s Head of Medical Operations Richard Wood said: ““It is vital that any success our players and teams achieve is down to the hard work they have put in both as individuals and together.

“Giving your best with hard work both on the field and off it is what rugby is all about.

“We will continue to be delivering the 100% Me and Clean Sport training to athletes in all of our national teams, our pathway and the FOSROC Super Series teams, and providing information on the importance of clean sport to players, coaches and volunteers at every level.”
