7 Mar 2016
Scotland Club XV internationalists Ross Curle and Jack Turley made the semi-final draw of the BT Cup at Goldenacre today. Matches will be played on Saturday 26 March with all four BT Premiership teams competing for a place in the BT Cup Final. This season’s table-toppers Ayr will host Melrose at Millbrae and Glasgow Hawks are set to welcome Heriot’s to Old Anniesland.Scotland Club XV and Ayr captain, Ross Curle, said: “We are pleased to get a home tie, looking at the draw we knew it was going to be a tough game regardless so any advantage is great.”Games against Melrose are always tough and there’s a bit of history there, they beat us at Millbrae in last season’s BT Premiership semi-final and we have lost to them on two occasions this season.”We know we will have to be at our very best to overcome them and progress to the final at BT Murrayfield.”Scotland Club XV back row and Heriot’s captain, Jack Turley, said: “The BT Cup is knock-out rugby so we will have to prepare to put everything on the line against Glasgow Hawks in the semi-final.We picked up some good wins in the BT Premiership this season and will look to bring our form into this BT Cup game.”Curle and Turley also made the semi-final draw for both the BT Shield and BT Bowl with many exciting games emerging, all scheduled for Saturday 26th March. The BT Shield semi-final draw will see Murrayfield Wanderers or North Berwick host Highland, and Carrick welcome either Duns or St. Boswells. In the BT Bowl semi-final draw, Grangemouth visit Millbrae and the winners of the East Region Bowl travel to Aberdeen University. The BT Cup Finals Day will take place on Saturday 16 April at BT Murrayfield.
