Scottish Rugby is saddened to learn of the death of Craig McGeary, a former employee and stalwart of rugby in East Lothian.  He passed away suddenly in Musselburgh yesterday (Tuesday 5 July) aged 43.Craig was video analyst when Frank Hadden took his Scotland team to Romania in 2005. Scotland won the match 39-19 and the game in Bucharest was a stellar occasion for the likes of Kelly Brown, Scott Lawson, Euan Murray, Phil Godman and Andrew Wilson, all of whom won their first caps.A former player with Haddington RFC, Craig went on to serve as Edinburgh Rugby video analyst in the 2006-07 season.He coached at George Heriot’s School in Edinburgh and then, in his native East Lothian, he was a development officer at Musselburgh RFC before coaching the first XV at Stoneyhill and also with Preston Lodge.Latterly he was Director of Rugby at Loretto School in Musselburgh and a member of Scottish Rugby’s National Schools and Youth Forum.Scottish Rugby extends its sincere condolences to all Craig’s family and friends.
