Edinburgh Rugby and their official kit partner, Macron, are proud to present their latest exclusive playing kit for the 2011/12 RaboDirect PRO12 and Heineken Cup season. The kit uses the Italian firm’s latest innovation, Solidskin, designed in partnership with the club and its players to give maximum comfort and a streamlined finish, while having the robust capability to withstand all the physicality that a game can throw at it.Appearing in the new kit for the first time, Edinburgh Rugby vice captain Roddy Grant was delighted to pull on the latest black and red jersey. He said: Over the past season we have been giving our feedback to the product development staff at Macron so that we could play our part in making this season’s kit the best it can be for our purpose and to help us get an edge on our opponents in the season ahead. But the technical aspects aside, I think the new kit looks and feels great. Im very proud to have the chance to pull on the club colours and Im sure our supporters will be too.Gianluca Pavanello, Macron CEO, said: ‘the kit, designed by players for players, has a new closer body fitted form to help them evade their rivals grasp while the robust new fabric and reinforced stitching gives a solid sensation in contact.’the mesh inserts allows the players body to breath under maximum intensity, the new neck fitting gives both an aesthetic look as well as a maximum resistance on the field, while the tone on tone colour flashes across the jersey are taken directly from the Edinburgh badge to translate the club’s passion throughout the garment. Finally the motto that guides the city of Edinburgh Nemo me impune lacessit again resides on the rear collar of the shirt reminding all who face Edinburgh Rugby that no one attacks me with impunity.Edinburgh Rugby will wear the kit for the first time at Edgeley Park this Friday as they take on Sale Sharks before the kit is unveiled at Murrayfield a week later when the club face Alan Tait’s Newcastle Falcons (26 August, kick-off 7.30pm), which is free to attend for U18s.Supporters can pre-order the new Edinburgh Rugby kit at the Scottish Rugby Store at Murrayfield Stadium in person or on the phone (0131 346 5044).
