Explore Nice

With its mix of astonishing architecture, art and culture, year-round sunshine, vibrant street life and stunning seaside location, Nice is a beautiful place to explore. It has one of the longest and most famous beaches of the French Riveria, a great spot for the millions of bathers travelling to the area each year.

The official Nice tourism website (en.nicetourisme.com) has all sorts of itinerary suggestions for what to see and how to spend your time in the capital of the French Riveria.

The stadium

Allianz Riveria Stadium, Boulevard des Jardiniers, 06206 Nice (allianz-riviera.fr)

Located in the western suburbs of the city of Nice at about 10km from Nice’s city centre and about 5km from Nice International airport.

The multi-use stadium is the home of football side OGC Nice – and occasionally plays host Toulon – and has a capacity of 36,178.

Depending on how much time you’ve got to spend in Nice, you might want to take a stadium tour which will take you behind the scenes for a look at the pitch, the VIP and press areas and the changing rooms.

How to get there

The recommended way to get to the Allianz Riveria Stadium is via public transport (allianz-riviera.fr/en/practical-information/access-transports). There are a wide range of options including:

  1. Bus service 95, which runs from Hôpital St Roch in Nice’s city centre. The journey takes about 50 minutes. The route of regular line 9/10 is extended so that it serves the stadium, though the journey takes about 75 minutes.
  2. TER train from Nice-Ville main rail station to St Augustin station, from where shuttle buses run to the stadium.
  3. Take the Chemins de Fer de Provence commuter train to Digne and get off at station Saint-Isodore, from where it is a 10-minute downhill walk to the Allianz Riviera. Trains only run a few times a day, but extra trains run on event days. Trains leave from Chemins de Fer de Provence rail station, which lies a 10-minute walk north of Nice-Ville station.

Practical information

You can find a range of practical information to organise your visit to the stadium on the website (allianz-riviera.fr/en/practical-information/access-transports) including access and transport, a journey planner and food options available at the grounds.
