After a two-year break, FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy representative games got back underway this afternoon with the U20 Junior 1872 Cup at Scotstoun.

Glasgow Warriors showed their dominance from the very beginning when hooker Iain Carmichael secured the ball down over the try line from the back of a lineout maul, stand-off and captain Euan Cunningham adding the extra two points on offer.

The hosts stretched their lead further on 10 and 14 minutes with tries by Callum Folan and Andy Stirrat, Cunningham added a conversion to Folan’s try. [19-0]

Edinburgh Rugby got on the scoresheet half-way through the first forty minutes when winger Matt Reid opened their scoring with Matt Russell converting. [19-7]

Warriors responded almost immediately with the first of two tries by prop Ali Rodgers, with Cunningham once again adding the extra two points on offer.

At the half-hour mark Edinburgh captain Gregor Scougall got on the scoresheet for the visitors with Russell adding the extra points on offer. [26-14]

Callum Inglis, Warriors full-back, took the hosts further ahead three minutes later when he scored their fifth try of the afternoon.
