Scotland head coach Frank Hadden today handed Glasgow centre Graeme Morrison a call up to the Scotland 22 for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales at the Millennium Stadium.Having last pulled on a Scotland jersey against South Africa in the 2004 Autumn Tests, Morrison spoke about the long road back to the international scene. It’s been difficult. I joke about it a lot with Muffles (Andrew Henderson). He calls his year out of the national squad as his year in the wilderness whereas I call it my four years in the wilderness! It’s important to stay positive though because I have been in and out of the Scotland squad quite a lot. You just need to keep plugging away.Morrison, who is affectionately known as G-Dog amongst his team-mates and Glasgow fans also admitted that his lack of game-time with Glasgow made his return to international rugby that bit more difficult. It’s been difficult with Glasgow because I haven’t had as much game-time because of the level of competition for places. Muffles and Daryl (Gibson) have created a pretty formidable centre partnership there. But when I have come on, I feel like Ive played to my ability.A timely try at the weekend during the Scotland A team’s 37-15 victory over Italy in Rome was also a timely reminder to Hadden of the threat the x year old poses in attack. And Graeme is quick to praise the A team set-up as part of Scottish rugby’s development of elite players.International A team rugby is definitely a step up from club rugby and it doesn’t have all the added pressures of full international rugby. Youre not in such a fishbowl environment so you can let your hair down a bit more on the field.’the way the Scotland A team played last weekend really suited my game because we threw the ball around quite a lot.But all eyes are now on the Scotland team as they travel to the Millennium Stadium to face a buoyant Wales side who defeated England at Twickenham for the first time in 20 years.I just can’t wait to go down to Cardiff and take in the experience at the Millennium Stadium. It’s an awesome place to go and watch for supporters so you can imagine how good the atmosphere is for the players.Saturday’s Scotland v Wales RBS 6 Nations clash (kick-off 2pm) will be broadcast live from 1:50pm on BBC 1, BBCi, BBC Radio 5 Live sports extra and the BBC Sport Website (UK users only).
