Guinness Six Nations fixtures announced

20 Mar 2019

The 2020 and 2021 fixtures of the Guinness Six nations were released today, just four days on from the epic final round of the 2019 edition at Twickenham.

Scotland will face a tough Test in the opening round of next year’s campaign with an away trip to Dublin to face Rugby World Cup 2019 group rivals, Ireland.

A week later Scotland welcome England back to BT Murrayfield for a second round defence of the Calcutta Cup and a chance to repeat the famous 2017 victory in rugby’s oldest international fixture.

The middle match in the competition will see the Scots head to Rome to face Italy, a recent happy hunting ground where the Scots have won in their last three visits.

In the penultimate round our Auld Alliance friends from France travel to Edinburgh with Scotland hoping to achieve a hat-trick of home wins over the French after the consecutive victories of 2016 and 2018.

The 2020 tournament closes with a trip to Cardiff to take on recently-crowned Grand Slam winners, Wales.

The 2021 Guinness Six Nations starts with a bang and a first round trip to Twickenham – the scene of that famous comeback.

A chance to avenge this year’s narrow home defeat to the Welsh at BT Murrayfield is up next in the second round as the men in red travel north.

Scotland head to Paris in the third round for a Sunday match and then welcome Ireland at home the following Sunday.

The Italians are Scotland’s final opponents in the closing round as we welcome the Azzurri to Scotland.
