Into the Lions den for Scotland 7s

It was an afternoon off, following a rugby session in the morning, for Scotland 7s today, and a visit to the Seaview Predator Park was the attraction of choice.Now only a few days out from the tournament, taking some down time, particularly in the second week of competition, is an imperative part of the teams training schedule and an opportunity for the team to experience the culture of the country they are in.In this case, an up-close and personal encounter with one of Africa’s big five.www.scottishrugby.org caught up with head coach, Stephen Gemmell and players Andrew Turnbull and Joe Nayacavou at the park:This evening, the team then visited the Port Elizabeth Scotland Supporters Club, where a signed jersey was handed over to organiser, Anthony Emmet. The players and management also had the chance to chat with their keenest followers in the city and the young debutants, notably Jack Ferguson and Mark Bennett, treated the 80 strong supporter to their rendition of some well known pop songs.Scotland 7s take-on France (10.50am), Australia (1.56pm) or Fiji (5.14pm) on Saturday (7 December) at the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s.
