Mark Bennett on the Official Scottish Rugby Podcast

6 Aug 2020

On this week's episode of the Official Scottish Rugby Podcast, we are joined by Scotland international and Edinburgh centre Mark Bennett.

The 27-year-old Olympic medallist joins former Scotland internationals Al Kellock and Chris Paterson, and current Scotland captain Rachel Malcolm to reflect on his playing career so far.

Bennett looks ahead to the upcoming 1872 Cup fixtures as the Guinness PRO14 season resumes later this month and gives an insight into training at BT Murrayfield.

The centre said: “We’re trying to get up to speed to take on Glasgow and hopefully push onto the semi-finals and then the knock-out stages in Europe as well but at the same time you’re trying to get the training in for the season we’re about to go into as well. It’s been a really different preseason because normally you’ve got three or four months to do that but instead we’ve got four weeks.”

The hosts also discuss the rescheduled 2020 Women’s Six Nations fixtures and qualification for the 2021 Rugby World Cup, as well as Scotland’s rescheduled Guinness Six Nations fixture against Wales.

Scotland captain Rachel Malcolm looks ahead to the fixtures, “It’ll be a really good build-up for us to get three games on the bounce with World Cup Qualifications still to be confirmed. It’s really exciting and I can’t wait to get back out there.”
