Currie Chieftains v Heriot’s Blues – Malleny Park, KO 3pm

It’s a top table clash at Malleny Park as Currie Chieftains look to maintain their perfect form whilst Heriot’s will hope they can overtake the hosts in the league standings.

Currie scored an impressive eight tries to one against Musselburgh last weekend, including a brace from Ali Bain.

Heriot’s Blues battled till the dying minutes to claim the win over Accies last weekend. It was 17-18 in the final moments of the game, but after successfully charging down Accies Jamie Loomes’ drop -goal attempt, Heriot’s gathered with Paul Christie crossing the whitewash to win the game.

Edinburgh Academical FC v Hawick – Raeburn Place, KO 3pm

After suffering last-minute defeat to capital rivals Heriot’s Blues, Accies will be hoping they can bounce back as they welcome Hawick to Edinburgh on Saturday.

Hawick returned to winning ways last weekend with a triumphant 61-7 win over fellow Borders outfit, Kelso. Vice-captain Kirk Ford had a standout performance with a hattrick of tries and eight successful conversions, and now leads the way as the top points scorer of the competition so far.

Not far behind Ford is Accies Jamie Loomes, who has racked up 36 points in three games, so it could be that this game comes down to the performance off the tee.

This time last year Hawick narrowly edged the win from Accies 12-13, so there will be an expectation that this game will be another exciting battle.

Kelso v Glasgow Hawks – Poynder Park, KO 3pm

Both Kelso and Glasgow Hawks will be seeking redemption from their losses last weekend.

In their first Border derby, Kelso suffered defeat at the hands of last year’s champions. The visitors fielded a young team, who will have taken a lot of learnings from the loss to bring into this weekend.

Unlike Kelso, it was the narrowest of defeats for Hawks against Marr last Saturday (30-35). Stand-off Liam Brims has so far proved to be a great threat with the boot, last week converting three ties and knocking three conversions through the sticks.

Marr v Selkirk – Fullarton Park, KO 3pm

On Saturday Marr play host to Selkirk at Fullerton.

Selkirk put on a spectacle last weekend scoring 10 tries over Jed-Forest – scored through nine different players – and will be keen to back that performance up on the road to Marr this weekend.

For the hosts, this weekend will be a chance to add a third win to their belt after their two previous victories over Hawick and Hawks.

Jed-Forest v Musselburgh – Riverside Park, KO 3pm

Musselburgh will head to the Borders this weekend to take on Jed-Forest. This will be a crucial game for the two sides as they look to claim their first win of the season and add much needed points to the table.

Despite scoring five tries last weekend – including a brace from Elliot Lauder it wasn’t enough for Jed-Forest as they were outplayed by Selkirk’s 10 scores.

Musselburgh struggled against a strong Marr side last weekend, only able to put one converted try over their opposition. The visitors will be looking to turn their luck around this weekend.

National 1

Gala welcome Biggar to Netherdale as both sides look to regroup from their losses last weekend, whilst in Glasgow it’s derby day as Accies host GHA.

Elsewhere, top of the table Ayr visit Melrose, whilst GHK travel to Inverness to take on Highland.

Finally, Dundee host Watsonian as they look to get themselves away from the bottom of the table.

All five fixtures kick-off at 3pm.
