After their scheduled bye week last weekend, the team will return to the tournament when they meet Stirling Wolves for the first time at Bridgehaugh. Only one point separates the two teams on the table and both are still looking to secure their first win of the Championship.

The FOSROC Future XV had a strong start to their campaign after a narrow one-point defeat on their first outing against Southern Knights at The Greenyards. The team amassed a total of 38 points, with tries scored by Amena Caqusau, Callum Smyth, Freddy Douglas, Jake Spurway, Tom Smith and Ollie Duncan.

This was then followed by another competitive performance against Boroughmuir Bears at Meggetland, where the high scoring match ended in a 59-36 victory for the hosts.

With the Scotland U20 squad now back on home soil after the World Rugby U20 Trophy in Nairobi, coaches Scott Forrest and Fergus Pringle will now lead the team through the competition, taking over from Scott Lawson, Euan Clark and Shade Munro. The coming weeks will also see the return of players who were involved in the World Rugby U20 Trophy who will either return to their Super Series club or make their debut for the FOSROC Future XV.

Head Coach Scott Forrest said: “We are looking forward to building on the positives from the first 2 matches, where the players showed some real energy and intent.

“This has been a steep learning curve for these young players and undoubtedly Stirling will pose another tough challenge on Saturday. We know that Stirling play an expansive brand of rugby so it should make for an exciting match.

“Fergus and I look forward to heading up this group as they continue in the competition and would like to thank Scott Lawson, Euan Clark and Shade Munro for leading the group to be highly competitive in the first rounds.”
