Rugby Clubs Show Community Spirit

In the past couple of weeks, Scotland’s rugby clubs have been offering their support in their local communities to those most in need. From food banks to fitness videos, rugby clubs have been keeping up a positive community spirit in their local areas. Take a look at some of the fantastic initiatives that rugby clubs across the country have been running!

Currie Chieftains opened their club last week for food bank
donations, in conjunction with Balerno Cares.

Looking for a challenge? Try and spot Ayrshire Bull’s mascot Burnsy in these photos! Look through their social channels for more interactive fun and games.

Bishopton are keeping spirits lifted with their pass the ball challenge, watch their video and get involved.

Loch Lomond Juniors are not only working on their rugby
skills at home but their brilliant presentation skills in this video! Future TV
stars in the making!

Last week, Melrose Rugby Club offered those isolating or in a vulnerable group support in day to day tasks. This even extended to a Southern Knight being sent to collect local resident from Newcastle Airport to bring her safely home.

Another player assisted a member of the community in
isolation by walking their dog Milo, fantastic effort from the Borders club.

Stew Mel Lions & Lionesses have been having a lot of fun
posting skills challenges for you to take on at home.

Dalziel team members offered help with shopping for those unable to leave the house.

Head Coach Graham Calder on the support said: “It’s a time of need, and it’s about giving something back.”

In the North, Ross Sutherland have kindly left out a bag of
rugby balls for anyone to take home and practise their skills.

As well as offering free rugby balls, Kelso have been trying their hand at some challenges.

Cartha Queens Park men’s and women’s teams joined together to offer support in collecting groceries, prescriptions and dog walking.
