The rugby community are signing up for Doddie Gump, a mass participation event, that started in the new year encouraging people to get active in support of MND awareness and to raise funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The inter-district challenge runs throughout January with
five teams; South, Edinburgh, Glasgow, North & Midlands and Scottish
Exiles. Individuals log any exercise that they take, anything from walking to
horse riding.
In early February, champions will be unveiled for those
logging the most miles so there’s no better time to join in and get active
close to home.
Scottish Rugby is pleased to see the community; clubs,
players, staff and fans join in with Doddie Gump which has so far raised more
than £500,000 and clocked over a million miles.
Former Scotland captain, Al Kellock, said: “I’ve been
joining in with the family, a great reason to explore the outdoors together.
I’m Team Glasgow and enjoying seeing the efforts the district is going to, to
support Doddie and the foundation. Whether it’s your usual dog walk, a hike or
a swim, I’d encourage people to join in this January.”
