Scotland 7s out to defend Plate trophy at Rugby World Cup 7s

Day two at the Rugby World Cup 7s in Moscow was a mixed bag for Scotland 7s, winning their first game to hosts Russia, 21-5 and then losing out to group B winners South Africa, 41-0.The Scots now move into the Plate competition where they’ll play Portugal at 8.42am (BST), this is the trophy they won in Dubai four years ago.Head coach, Stephen Gemmell, said: “We’re the defending champions of the Plate, tomorrow we must go out and show what that means to us.”The challenge for everyone will be to move on from today and turn up ready for tomorrow’s game v Portugal.”They are a team we know well, we came up against them a lot in this year’s World Series and the matches were always close. We’re going to have to front up and not stand off them.
