As the Scotland 7s team took to the sky today bound for the penultimate leg of the IRB Sevens World Series in London this weekend, Scottish Rugby announced that the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s Festival at Murrayfield on 30 and 31 May will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.Scottish Rugby announces Edinburgh 7s broadcast partner As the Scotland 7s team took to the sky today bound for the penultimate leg of the IRB Sevens World Series in London this weekend, Scottish Rugby announced that the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s Festival at Murrayfield on 30 and 31 May will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.Tickets for each day of the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens Festival – priced at£15 for adults,£10 for students and senior citizens and£5 for under 18s – are available to purchase by logging onto www.scottishrugbytickets.com, by calling the Ticket Hotline on 0871 200 1511 or in person from the Murrayfield Ticket Centre (open 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday).Scottish Rugby’s Director of Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay, welcomed Sky’s backing of the event following their involvement with the successful engage Super League Magic Weekend at Murrayfield earlier this month: “Sky Sports are good broadcast partners and their various media channels have already helped promote this fantastic event.”The Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s Festival is a showcase of the finest rugby sevens sides in the world and I’ve no doubt the Sky Sports event coverage will be first-class.” Sky Sports will broadcast 19-and-a-half hours of action packed international rugby sevens over the course of the weekend as Scotland’s all-star team seeks to overcome England, Kenya and Canada to progress to the Cup competition on day two.A live ten-hour broadcast on day one begins at 9:30am, with coverage on a combination of Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports Xtra and via the interactive service (activated by pressing the red button).  On day two, there will be nine-and-a-half hours of action from the home of Scottish Rugby starting at 10am on Sky Sports 1 before switching to Sky Sports 3 at 1pm until the victors of both the Neg Haig Cup and the overall IRB Sevens World Series title is decided.Sky Sports will also be the host broadcaster of the Heineken Cup final which will be live from Murrayfield on Saturday 23 May (kick-off 5pm).
