Scotland 7s have today revealed their brand new home and alternate playing kit for the 2014-15 season.? ?The home jersey is predominantly navy blue with flashes of pink, the first time this colour has appeared on a Scotland 7s playing jersey, on the inside of the neck and on the cusps of the sleeves.? ?The alternate shirt is primarily pink with navy on the shoulders, collar and sides.? ?The logo of BT, the 7s team’s main sponsor, adorns the front of the shirts for the first time.? ?Scotland 7s player, Colin Gregor, who modelled the new kit for the marketing campaign, said: These strips are striking.  It’s great to have kit that makes a statement on the IRB 7s circuit.”? ?Navy and PinkRoss Cook, Macron’s UK & Ireland Sports Marketing Manager, said: Macron was challenged by Scottish Rugby to come up with a design that matches the sport’s, youthful, dynamic and fast-paced nature that appeals to both players and fans alike.”? ?Macron has developed kit that is technically advanced and that will appeal to rugby’s growing fan base.  They have worked closely with Scottish Rugby to create a new design in a new single stretch, breath-able fabric suitable for the players’ needs wherever they play on the sevens circuit.Scottish Rugby’s Director of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay, said: Rugby sevens is becoming world-renowned for its carnival atmosphere and its global reach is growing year-on-year and this will continue following the huge success of the Commonwealth Games event at Ibrox in July.  We wanted to create a shirt that was different, that responded and appealed to the growing sevens audience in Scotland and abroad.Over the past three years we have been building the Emirates Airlines Glasgow 7s as a party weekend that is fun for all the family and I believe the new shirt design reflects that. I can’t wait to see the stands, at Scotstoun, filled with supporters in the new, striking jersey in [9-10] May and scattered around the world on the HSBC Sevens World Series.”The new Scotland 7s jerseys will go on-sale at 5pm on Wednesday 24 September from The Scottish Rugby Store at BT Murrayfield and then the following day (25 September) from Macron approved retailers throughout Scotland, in-store and online.Brendan Dick, BT Scotland director, said: We’re thrilled to be supporting the Scotland 7s with our latest shirt sponsorship and it’s great to see the new kit unveiled today. From its origins in the Scottish Borders, the game of sevens is now followed by huge crowds around the world and is played in many of the 170-plus countries where BT does business.” Sevens in actionScotland 7s will begin their HSBC Sevens World Series campaign on the Gold Coast on Saturday 11 October.  This will be the first time the new jerseys are worn.However, the side are in action this weekend and next, in Manchester (13 and 14 September) and Bucharest (20 and 21 September) in the Rugby Europe Grand Prix Sevens Series.On Saturday, the team will face Spain (10.44am), Italy (1.44pm) and Georgia (5.50pm), then Sunday’s fixtures will be determined by day one’s results.
