A quartet of Scotland stars are set for make their first Edinburgh Rugby outing of the 2016/17 season in tomorrow night’s final preparation match against Newcastle Falcons at BT Murrayfield Stadium (Friday 26 August, kick-off 7.35pm).Hooker Ross Ford and props Rory Sutherland and Willem Nel will begin the match against the English Premiership side.Head Coach Alan Solomons has also sought to rotate the group that faced Sale Sharks last weekend, with scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, full-back Glenn Bryce, lock Grant Gilchrist and young back-row forwards Magnus Bradbury and Jamie Ritchie all starting.Open-side Hamish Watson completes the back-row and the pack, with John Hardie set to make his return from the bench.The rest of the squad is unchanged meaning Phil Burleigh and Sasa Tofilau are reinstated in midfield, with Duncan Weir at stand-off and Rory Scholes and Tom Brown on the wings.Edinburgh Rugby Head Coach, Alan Solomons, said: “It’s important that our international players get some game time under their belt before the beginning of the competitive season, having balanced their preparations for the coming campaign against the need for a proper break from an arduous 2015/16 season.”It’s important to offer game time to as many players as possible leading into the season, with everyone who is fit and available selected to play.Last week’s match against Sale was really good for us because it was very physical, and I think Newcastle will be the same.
