Scotland secure full houses for RBS 6 Nations & welcome the All Blacks for autumn 2017 series

Scotland are on course to play in front of full houses at BT Murrayfield for the forthcoming RBS 6 Nations Championship. The 2017 tournament has seen the fastest ever sell-outs for both the opening match against Ireland and Wales on February 4th and February 25th respectively, both at BT Murrayfield. Scotland are also on course to play in front of a record crowd for Italy, their final opponents on the closing weekend of the competition on Saturday 18th March.Fresh from a record breaking Autumn Test series which saw the largest ever crowds for Australia, Argentina and Georgia the public appetite for Scotland’s rugby team shows no signs of slowing down.Scottish Rugby can also confirm its opponents for the 2017 Autumn Test series as current Season Ticket holders will be given the chance to renew their passes during the RBS 6 Nations championship.  Passes will go on general sale in April.The 2015 World Champions, New Zealand will play at BT Murrayfield in the middle weekend, with Samoa opening the series and Australia closing the three match window this November.Weekend of 11 Nov          Scotland v SamoaWeekend of 18 Nov          Scotland v New ZealandWeekend of 25 Nov          Scotland v AustraliaThe All Blacks last played Scotland at BT Murrayfield in the 2014 Autumn Test series and edged out their hosts 24-16.Dominic McKay, Scottish Rugby’s Chief Operating Officer said: “Following on from a very successful Autumn Test series it is testament to the passion of our fans and the rugby the team are playing that once again BT Murrayfield will be full for the RBS 6 Nations matches versus Ireland and Wales.Matchdays at Scotland’s biggest stadium are unique and we look forward to welcoming our own fans and our visitors from Ireland, Wales and Italy for what should be three great contests and an exciting autumn series.Samoa last played on Scottish soil in 2010 at Pittodrie, Aberdeen, losing 19-16, but their most recent game against Scotland was the pulsating 2015 Rugby World Cup group match at St James’ Park, Newcastle, which saw Scotland win 36-33.Australia are no strangers to playing Scotland in recent years and will be looking to complete a treble of wins over the Scots after their 2015 Rugby World Cup quarter-final victory and a similar narrow win at BT Murrayfield in the 2016 Autumn Tests.
