Scotland Team Doctor Honoured

James Robson, the Scotland rugby team’s much-respected doctor, has been honoured by his peers at a prestigious ceremony in London this afternoon. Robson, 54, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Medical Services and a doctor/medic on the last five successive British and Irish Lions tours, has been made a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners. This follows his award as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2010. Accepting his fellowship today Dr Robson, who stays in Dundee with his wife and two teenage daughters, said: “I strive to provide high quality, patient-centred care. My maxim is to treat others as I would wish others to treat my loved ones. “I’m honoured to receive the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners. I think it’s a just reward for my family since like many others it is their sacrifices that allow me the privilege of caring for others in their time of need.”
