Scotland Women will play Spain Women at Scotsoun Stadium on Friday 18 November (kick-off 7.30pm) for a place at Women’s Rugby World Cup 2017. The match is the first of two between the nations to determine who will be among the 12 teams competing for the World Cup in Ireland next August. Tickets for the game are on sale at scottishrugby.org/tickets with adults priced at£5 and under-18s free. This match is also included the Scotland Season Pass with fans due to be contacted shortly with information on how to secure their free ticket to the match.Spain were crowned winners of the Rugby Europe Women’s Championship last month by defeating the Netherlands 35-7 in the final to set up the showdown with Scotland.The sides will first meet on Scottish soil at Scotsoun before playing the second leg in Madrid the following week on Saturday 26 November.Scotland Women played Spain last year in a non-capped fixture, which Scotland won 34-10 to round off a ten-day training camp in Valladolid, Spain. The majority of Spain’s players were training with the sevens squad in preparation for the Rio Olympics and are now back in the fold for the qualifiers.
